Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

Selhurst Park is the venue for this weekend’s early kick off, with Crystal Palace hosting high flying Liverpool. This fixture couldn’t come at a worse time for Palace who are without a win in 4 Premier League games. It’s quite the opposite for The Reds who haven’t suffered defeat in the league in their last 9 games. Goals have been a huge problem for Palace who have failed to score in four of their seven home games this season. As for Liverpool, they have managed to find the net in all 9 of their Premier League away games this campaign. In the last 5 games Liverpool have averaged 2.2 goals per game collecting 11 points from a possible 15. As for Palace they have conceded 1.5 per game in the same amount of games. Liverpool are unbeaten at Selhurst Park since 2014! That’s 9 games without defeat, winning 8! I can only see one winner in this one.

Brighton vs Burnley

Should results go Brighton’s way and the Seagull’s manage to pick up 3 points against Burnley, they could see themselves sat pretty in 5th place. They’re coming up against a Burnley side who have only managed one win in nine games (8 defeats) in all competitions. In contrast to this, Brighton have only lost once in 9 games in all competitions. Brighton have been impressive at home this season, collecting 15 points in 8 games, scoring on 17 occasions. On the road, Burnley have only collected 4 points from a possible 21. Surprisingly, Burnley were victorious by a 3-0 scoreline last time this two met but before this, Brighton were 5 games unbeaten against Saturday’s opponents.

Manchester United vs Bournemouth

A huge win midweek against Chelsea, Manchester United will look to claim back to back wins and continue their climb up the table. At Old Trafford, United have collected 15 points from 8 games domestically, with 8 of the last 9 fixtures played at the Theatre of Dreams ending with 3 goals or less. United are unbeaten against Bournemouth at home in the last 6 meetings, winning 5 of those. All 12 of United’s last Premier League games has seen under 3.5 goals. Finding the back of the net has been an issue for United who are the lowest scorers in the top half of the table in the last 5 games but have also only conceded on two occasions in those games.

Sheffield United vs Brentford

Chris Wilder returns to Sheffield United hopefully giving them a lift, with the side currently sat rock bottom of the league. Conceding an average of 2.7 goals per game in their opening 15 league games! That’s 41 goals. More recently, Brentford haven’t been impressive defensively, conceding 1.8 goals per game in the last 5, conceding in every one of those games. 3 defeats in their last 4 for Brentford, will give Sheffield United slight confidence that they can go out and put on a decent performance. Managing to score in 3 of their of the last 5, it’s been their awful defence that has let them down so far this season.

Wolves vs Nottingham Forest

Wolves and Nottingham Forest meet when both teams are struggling to put together decent results. After an impressive 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest have lost their last 4 Premier League games! Away from home has always been a struggle, as surprise win at Stamford Bridge back in September was Forest’s only win away from home since beating Southampton back in January! The previous two meetings between the two, has seen both sides find the back of the net. Wolves have scored in all of their last 16 games in all competitions! Defensively this season, Wolves have struggled at home conceding 12 goals in 7 games. This will give Forest hope of adding to their 16 goals this campaign.

Aston Villa vs Arsenal

3rd place Aston Villa host top of the table Arsenal. A win for Villa will put them one point behind their opponents and after an impressive 1-0 victory over treble winners Manchester City in midweek, they will feel they are more than capable of getting a result in this one too. 14 Premier League wins in row at home is one of the many reasons Aston Villa have been so impressive this season. Although, Arsenal do have the best away record in the league this season, collecting 16 from a possible 21 points. Villa have scored 24 goals in 7 home games, with Arsenal finding the net 13 times in the same amount of games on the road. 3 of the last 4 meetings has seen both sides find the back of the net and over 2.5 goals. I feel more of the same in this one with both sides looking so impressive in front of goal.
