It’s Saturday! It can only mean one thing. A nice looking accumulator.
After our midweek win of over £200, I’ve put together an acca that will hopefully boost our winnings even more. Take a look…
Luton vs Chelsea
Luton come into this game with back to back wins over Christmas, with Chelsea on managing to collect 6 points from their last 5 games. Both sides have been average recently but Luton have managed to score 8 in their last 4 games, while conceding the same amount. All 3 of the meetings between these two (post 2000) have ended with over 2.5 goals and 2 of the 3 has seen both sides hit the back of the net.
Aston Villa vs Burnley
The battle of claret and blue in this one, with Aston Villa sat pretty in 3rd but having squandered a 2 goal lead at old Trafford on Boxing Day, they will be desperate to return to winning ways. At home, Villa have been phenomenal. Scoring 26 in 9 games collecting 25 from a possible 28 points! As for Burnley they have conceded 14 goals away from home in their 9 games on the road. Villa have scored in all of their last 11 games – 7 of these with 2 or more.
Crystal Palace vs Brentford
The odds slightly favour Palace in this one but I don’t really understand why. Across the last 5 games they have had the worst points return (2) in the league and they are without a win in 8 games. Palace have never beaten Brentford will the last 5 meetings ending in a draw with the last 3 all ending 1-1.
Manchester City vs Sheffield United
The highest scorers in the league, face the side who have conceded the most in the league. Can only end one way right? 23 goals conceding in 9 away games for The Blades, with city scoring 22 in 8 games at The Etihad. One loss in 16 for City, with Sheffield United picking up one win in 8!
Wolves vs Everton
Could go either way this one. Back to back wins for Wolves – although failing to keep a clean sheet in the last 4. Everton have lost the last 2 but have managed to score in all of their last 6 league games. 3 of the last 5 meetings has seen both sides hit the back of the net and with both sides in decent from across the last 5 games, scoring a combined 17 goals. I expect a decent match from these two.
Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United
I’ve backed corners in this one, these two are the inconsistency kings! We could be looking at a goal fest but could easily be 0-0 too. Forest have collected 4 points from thier last 5 games but are better at home. United have only scored 5 goals in the last 5, conceding 8. It is 11 straight wins for United against Forest but their inability to score goals is a problem. Confidence will come from their comeback against Aston Villa. I expect them to dominate the game but may struggle with that end product, but the pressure they will put Forest under should make diamonds in the end!
