Crystal Palace vs Manchester City
Just 16 points collected from 14 home games for Palace against a city side who have the 2nd best away form in the league scoring on 29 occasions. Unbeaten in 11 away ties including 10 wins. Now seems to be a great time for a trip to Selhurst Park where Palace have failed to score when City have visited in the last 4 meetings, scoring one in the last 7!
Aston Villa vs Brentford
Villa know they have to win to keep their Top 4 hopes alive and with Brentford collecting just 3 points in the last 5, Emery will hope his side can collect 3 points at home today. Brentford have lost their last 4 away games, but have drew 5 of their 6 trips to Villa Park. But without a win in 8 games, I struggle to see them getting anything from this one today.
Everton vs Burnley
A must win for both teams this one. A win for the Toffees sees them move away from the relegation zone but a win for Burnley gives them a fighting chance of staying up. It is the away side in better form, collecting 6 points from the last 5 with Everton managing just 2 points. Burnley have only won once in their last 5 visits to Goodison but with Everton conceding in all of their last 4 home games I expect to see them on the scoresheet today. Both teams have scored in 6 of Everton’s last 8 games.
Fulham vs Newcastle
Who sides in very similar form, both collecting 7 points in their last 5 and both managing to net 11 times. Newcastle have been poor away from home, collecting just 11 points from 14 games, scoring 25 but conceding 32! As for Fulham, they have enjoyed playing at Craven Cottage, collecting 28 points with an average of 1.93 goals per game. I can see goals in this one today, as Fulham have scored in all of their last 9 games, conceding in 7 of those. While Newcastle have scored in 15 of the last 6 with 11 of those seeing both sides find the net!
Luton vs Bournemouth
Luton have to win, it’s that simple. Sat in 18th knowing a win could take them joint points with Forest. But they face a Bournemouth side who are the 3rd most inform team across the last 5 games. A side who have scored an average of 2.2 goals in those games, with Luton collecting just 2 points. At home Luton have netted 22 goals but Bournemouth have scored in all of their last 11 away games. This fixture screams goals, with the last 3 meetings seeing over 2.5 not to mention the reverse fixture treated us to a 3-2 victory for The Cherries.
Wolves vs West Ham
A tough game for both sides who are in similar form, West Ham have been more prolific infront of goal in the last 5, netting on 10 occasions compared to Wolves’ 4 but it is the home side who have a slightly better points return (7). West Ham leak goals away from home with an average of 2.13 per game away from home this season. Wolves will be confident coming into this one winning their last 3 home league games. But they haven’t managed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 5 games. West Ham aren’t any better, keeping just one in 15 in all competitions!
Brighton vs Arsenal
The most inform team takes a trip to Brighton looking to retain their place at the top (for a short time anyway) knowing only a win would do that. A 2.8 goal average in the last 5 will give Arsenal confident they can collect 3 points, against a side who have conceded 6 in the same number of games. But it may not be as easy as the Gunner’s think. Brighton are unbeaten in 15 home games! With Arsenal only managing 2 wins from their last 6 visits to the AMEX. But the Gunners are the most prolific infront of goal away from home averaging 2.26 per game so I expect them to edge this one.
