Current group leaders Saudi Arabia pulled off on of the (if not the) biggest upset of the tournament so far, when they came from behind and beat 2nd favourites Argentina 2-1.
Can lighting strike twice? They come up against a Poland side who looked less than impressive in their opener against Mexico. Having only 39% of the ball with 1 shot on target, with main man Robert Lewandowski missing from the penalty spot in what completed a very disappointing 90 minutes for Poland.
If Saudi Arabia can grab all 3 points, it will all but confirm their place in the knockouts, which is something they’ve only managed twice in their history – some added motivation for them maybe?
I think Argentina underestimated what Saudi Arabia were capable of and thought that the individual quality of Lionel Messi and co would see them through. This wasn’t the case and I don’t think Poland will make that same mistake. So, I’m going for a marginal win for Poland here.
