There’s no time for 2nd favourites Argentina to be licking their wounds, as it’s straight back into action against an impressive looking Mexico.
Argentina who lost to Saudi Arabia 2-1 will want to put any doubt to bed and put on a positive display against the Mexicans. It was Argentina’s first loss in over 2 years and it’s safe to say, it shocked the world.
Mexico will be no push over either, creating 13 opportunities on Poland’s goal last time out, with 4 shots on target. Now, I don’t think for one minute they’ll have 13 opportunities against Argentina which is why I think they will come up short in this one, as they seem to lack that clinical Number 9.
It’s a must win for Argentina this one, and I fully expect them to do it (although, I think everyone said that about their last game). The last time Mexico beat Argentina was back in 2004 during the Copa America, they faced each other 10 times since then with Argentina unbeaten in those games. It’s 3 wins on the bounce for Argentina against Saturday’s opponents without conceding. Argentina should be too strong once again for Mexico and I fully expect to see 3 points next to Argentina’s name after the full-time whistle.
