The World Cup break couldn’t have come at worse time for these two sides. Leicester finally began to show their quality after a somewhat horrendous start to the season. 4 wins out of their last 5 – with the defeat a marginal 1-0 loss to Premier League champions Manchester City. While Newcastle have been on a rampant run during the first 15 games of the season, losing only once to Liverpool. The Magpies have achieved maximum points in their last 5 games and unbeaten in their last 10 games (7W, 3D).
It is Newcastle’s defensive displays that have been impressive. Currently boasting the joint best defensive record in the league (along with leaders Arsenal). The last time Newcastle conceded more than 1 goal was their only defeat of the season (2-1) back in August.
I’m edging to a Newcastle win in this one due to Newcastle’s resilience in defence and Leicester’s inability to keep clean sheets. I don’t think there will be many goals in this one, more so with the recent results at the King Power. We have only seen 3 games with over 2.5 goals when Leicester play at home.
Bet Prediction: Newcastle Win
