Chelsea vs Manchester United

Every point is vital for United who currently have 2 games in hand on a lot of teams. Should they win those games it will put them within 5 points of the Champions League spots. Although Chelsea have played the least amount of games (28) meaning they have 3 games in hand a lot of teams, they don’t really have anything to play for other than pride. After the weekend’s 2-2 draw at home to 10 man Burnley, this clearly doesn’t mean much. Chelsea haven’t been great at home, collecting 22 points from a possible 42. In United’s last 8 games they have won 6 and drew 1, with their only loss being at the hands on the treble winners, Manchester City. Although Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 5 home ties they have conceded 2 in each of those games. Both Hojlund and Rashford are United’s joint top performers with 7 goals and 2 assists in the league each. Rashford has been in good form recently scoring in 3 of his last 4 games in all competitions. Hojlund has worked his way back to full fitness and coming up against a Chelsea defence who have conceded 47 goals in 28 league games, I fully expect him to test Chelsea’s resilience on a few occasions tonight.

Liverpool vs Sheffield United

After last night’s results, a win for Liverpool is a must. They’ve temporarily been knocked off top spot, but knowing a win for them will regain their 2 point advantage. Alexis MacAllister has been a revelation for Liverpool this season, and has helped himself to 5 assists so far, including a lovely pass for Salah’s winner at the weekend against former side Brighton. Tonight they face a side who are rock bottom of the league and have conceded 77 goals! A game I expect Liverpool to dominate and constantly knock on the door. This may place into MacAllister’s hands who can break lines with his amazing passing ability especially in and around the 18 yard box when a team is playing deep and with a low block – something that Sheffield United will have no option but to play tonight. When looking at Diaz on the left and Salah on the right, I fully expect them to have an absolute hat full of chances tonight. Diaz has had 71 shots in the league with 24 on target in the games he’s played in, with Salah having 82 attempts with 39 on target! 2 players who have been such a huge part in Liverpool’s title charge this campaign.
