Could the experience within the squad work in their favour, or will the lack of youth prove to be their downfall?
As for Morocco, they come into this tournament on a 7-game unbeaten run, where they have kept 5 clean sheets. The return of Hakim Ziyech to the national team will give Morocco a huge boost. The Chelsea winger has the ability to turn a game on its head and will be crucial to any Morocco success in this tournament. Although, Morocco have talent all over the pitch, with many of their players plying their trade across the top European leagues.
Croatia have lost only 1 in their last 15 in their run up to the World Cup and if they can take this form into the tournament, they could be a dark horse once again.
With Belgium the favourites to top the group, both sides will be desperate to pick up 3 points to give them the best opportunity to progress in the competition. If Croatia can contain the explosive pace and skill Morocco offer on the right-hand side in Ziyech and fullback Hakimi, who is known for his ability in the final third along with his blistering pace. Then I believe Croatia will edge this one, but I expect Morocco to be dangerous on the counterattack.
