It’s the mouth-watering clash that everyone has been waiting for. It’s the fixture that all football fans were excited about when the groups were released.
It’s safe to say that the confidence is in the Spanish leading up to this one. Their 7-0 demolition of Costa Rica, firmly put them up at the top with the favourites for the competition.
In the build-up, it seemed as though Spain would struggle without a typical ‘Number 9’ but with 6 different scorers in their win over Costa Rica it’s clear to see they may not warrant one was much as other countries, as their ‘Tika-Taka’ style of football creates multiple opportunities. 17 attempts on Costa Rica’s goal with 7 of them being on target, which all resulted in goals!
It could be a tough night for Germany, as their 6-0 demolition to the hands of their opponents, last time they met still causing nightmares for some of Germanys senior players. Also, if Germany fail to pick up points, it all but confirms their exit from the competition.
With Germany showcasing a lot more attacking talent than Costa Rica it will he interesting to see how good that Spanish defence is!
I do feel Spanish have too much for Germany, but of course, you can never write them off!
