Anyone But Haaland?
It’s hard to suggest anyone other than Erling Haaland for this season’s Golden Boot. The Norwegian scored an unbelievable 36 league goals last campaign along with 8 assists in his debut season in the Premier League.
What amazes me is no speaks about Harry Kane’s 30 goals! An outstanding return for the England captain in a very much underachieving Tottenham Hotspur team.

Darwin Nunez’ impressive pre-season has seen the Uruguayan score 5 in the 3 games. If he can hit the ground running early, he will certainly be hitting 15+ goals this season. Currently sat at 4th favourite, may come as a surprise.
The most likely Liverpool man to push the top two would of course be Mohammed Salah. The Egyptian has netted a minimum of 19 goals in his 6 seasons in the Premier League and I fully expect him to be up there come May.
The English boys in Marcus Rashford, Ollie Watkins and Callum Wilson deserve a mention after their 17+ goal seasons and in any other division this may be enough for them to be crowned top goal scorer but with the striking talent in the Premier League I don’t think they will score enough to keep up with the rest.
How About The New Boys?
The summer window is still open so their are plenty of opportunities for strikers from overseas to push their way in should they get a move to The Premier League.
The stand out for me would be Christopher Nkunku who’s move to Chelsea could be a very good one, should the French international pick him his RB Leipzig form. The attacking midfielder/striker finished joint top scorer in the Bundesliga last season with 16 goals, but also managed 20 goals and 13 assists the year before.
Another new Chelsea man in Nicolas Jackson looks promising, although any talk of the golden boot may be too much too early for the 22 year old Senegalese. 12 goals in 26 games for Villarreal last season (9 in his final 8 apps), shows promising signs that Chelsea may have found another African gem.
